CBF-FM-10 Sherbrooke and its transmitter CBF-FM-2 Magog - Technical changes
1.
The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the broadcasting licence of the radio programming undertaking CBF-FM-10 Sherbrooke, by changing the frequency of its transmitter CBF-FM-2 Magog from 106.9 MHz (channel 295B1) to 93.1 MHz (channel 226B), and to change its authorized contours by decreasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 1,010 watts to 420 watts, by increasing the antenna height and by relocating the transmitter.
2.
The CBC indicated that the altered contour would cover part of the town of Sherbrooke.
3.
The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
4.
The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
5.
The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
