CJFW-FM Terrace and its transmitter CJFW-FM-1 Kitimat - Technical changes

1.

The Commission approves the application by Standard Radio Inc. (Standard), the licensee of the radio programming undertaking CJFW-FM Terrace, to change the authorized contours of its transmitter CJFW-FM-1 Kitimat, by increasing the effective radiated power from 50 watts to 170 watts, by decreasing the antenna height and by relocating the transmitter. Standard stated that the current tower is being dismantled.

2.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

3.

The Commission notes that the authorized contour of the transmitter will increase significantly as a result of the technical changes approved in this decision and that CJFW-FM-1's status will change from that of a low-power unprotected service to that of a regular Class A1 transmitter.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
