Le Canal Nouvelles (LCN) - Amendment to the definition of broadcast day

1.

The Commission approves the application byTVA Group Inc. to amend the definition of the term "broadcast day" for the purposes of the conditions of licence for the French-language specialty programming undertaking known as Le Canal Nouvelles (LCN).

2.

LCN's broadcast day is currently defined as a 24-hour day commencing at 6:00 a.m. each day, or any other period approved by the Commission. LCN stated that the proposed amendment is intended to make LCN's operations consistent with those of other TVA Group Inc. services that begin their log reporting day at midnight.

3.

The Commission finds that it is appropriate to implement the revised definition. Accordingly, the definition of the broadcast day for the purposes of LCN's conditions of licence will read as follows:

"broadcast day" shall mean a 24-hour day commencing at midnight each day, or any other period approved by the Commission.
