CJRY-FM Edmonton - Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by Touch Canada Broadcasting Inc. to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CJRY-FM Edmonton, authorized in Christian music FM radio station in Edmonton, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-1, 7 January 2003, by increasing the antenna height from 138.5 metres to 193 metres and relocating the transmitter to a site approximately 19 kilometres northeast of the current site.
2. For economic reasons, the licensee requested that it be allowed to locate its transmitter on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's tower.
3. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
4. The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
5. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
