Revocation of licence

1.

C.O.R.B. Swift Current & District Inc. has requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) authorized to serve Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Given the licensee's request, the Commission revokes, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the broadcasting licence issued to C.O.R.B. Swift Current & District Inc. for the above-mentioned undertaking.

This RDU currently broadcasts the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) national English-language network service Radio Two from CBK-FM Regina. In CBK-FM Regina - New transmitter in Swift Current, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-141, also released today, the Commission authorizes the CBC to operate a transmitter in Swift Current to broadcast Radio Two from CBK-FM. Accordingly, the residents of Swift Current will continue to receive Radio Two by means of the CBC's transmitter.
