Application by FOCUS Entertainment Group Inc.(FOCUS) to amend conditions of licence numbers 1 and 2, relating to Canadian talent development (CTD). These amendments would allow the licensee to defer a portion of its CTD expenditures to years 5, 6 and 7 of its licence term. The CTD expenditure commitments are associated with the licensing of its urban music station, CFBT-FM, as approved in Decision CRTC 2001-312, dated 5 June 2001. The various CTD initiatives originally proposed by FOCUS and accepted by the Commission represented expenditures totalling $2,849,701 over seven years.
Total expenditures for each of the CTD initiatives approved by the Commission are as follows:

TOTAL | $2,849,701 | |||||||

* Includes original Annual Scholarship Program as well as the BCIT New Media /Production Scholarship Program which commences in Year 2 (Yr. 2: $10,500 + $2,100 = $12,600). |
** Originally proposed $15,000, then added $8,000 per year when asked to redirect from Production Award Statues. Therefore, Year 1 begins with $15,000 + $8,000 = $23,000. |
*** Originally proposed $65,000 in 1st Year, but $8,000 (Production of Awards Statues) was disqualified and redirected to Beat Boot Camp. Therefore, Year 1 begins with $65,000 - $8,000 = $57,000.$2,000 (Design of Awards Statue) was allowed in Year 1 only and for the other 6 years the $2,000 was redirected to BCIT Scholarship. Therefore, for Year 2: $57,000 - $2,000 = $55,000. |
