Application by DISCOVERY KIDS CANADA COMPANY to amend the licence of the national Category 2 specialty programming undertaking known as Discovery Kids. | ||
The licensee proposes to change the condition of licence relating to programming which reads: | ||
No more than 10% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be drawn from category 7. |

by the following condition: | ||
No more than 15% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast year shall be drawn from category 7. |
||
The licensee states that the current condition of licence limits the amount of drama programming which may be broadcast each week to just over 4 hours making it difficult to schedule compelling dramatic programming that complements its infotainment offerings. It also poses challenges when broadcasting special event programming blocks. | ||

The CBC notes that the relay transmitter CBXAT-13 Jean-Côté is no longer necessary since the installation of satellite earth receive facilities at CBXAT Grande Prairie and CBXAT-1 Peace River. | ||
