2.

Brantford, Ontario
Application No. 2003-0864-4
Application by 1486781 Ontario Limited to amend the licence of radio programming undertaking CFWC-FM Brantford.
The licensee proposes to amend the licence by changing the frequency from 99.5 MHz (channel 258LP) to 93.9 MHz (channel 230A1). The licensee also proposes to change the authorized contours by increasing the effective radiated power from 50 to 250 watts (non-directional antenna/antenna height 23.9 metres).
The current application would result in a change of CFWC-FM's status (approved in decision CRTC 2001-642) from a low power unprotected service to a protected class A1 FM station.
In Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-153, the Commission awarded frequency 99.5 MHz to Larche Communications Inc., with an expectation that Larche would absorb the costs of moving the low-power, unprotected station CFWC-FM Brantford, to another frequency.
The technical amendments would allow the licensee to provide a better signal quality to listeners in the Brantford area who are currently experiencing poor reception of CFWC-FM.

281, Greenwich Street
Brantford, Ontario
