Ottawa, 19 February 2004
Prince Rupert City Telephones |
|
Reference: Tariff Notice 73
Remote call forwarding service |
|
1. |
The Commission received an application by Prince Rupert City Telephones (CityTel), dated 12 January 2004, to revise General Tariff item 4, Remote Call Forwarding (RCF), in order to increase the monthly rates for this service applicable to business customers from $20.60 to $27.46 and to residence customers from $9.86 to $19.16. |
2. |
CityTel submitted that the Commission approved comparable rates for TELUS Communications Inc. in Amalgamation of tariff items associated with Remote Call Forwarding, Telecom Order CRTC 2003-459, 14 November 2003 (Order 2003-459). |
3. |
The Commission received no comments with respect to the application. |
4. |
In Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001 (Decision 2001-756), the Commission assigned the services in question to the fourth price cap service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for such services would generally be permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service. |
5. |
The Commission finds that the proposed rates are lower than the rates previously approved in Order 2003-459 for the same service and, therefore, are in accordance with Decision 2001-756. |
6. |
The Commission approves CityTel's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order. |
7. |
CityTel is to issue a revised tariff page forthwith to reflect this change. |
