Non-fixed manual mobile service |

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 27 October 2004, to revise Mobile Telephone Service Tariff item 201, Manual Mobile Service, in order to increase, from $30 to $35, the monthly charge for network access for non-fixed manual mobile services. |

In its application, Northwestel indicated that the proposed rate increase was required to improve the revenue generation and cost recovery of the service, as well as reduce its reliance on supplementary funding. Northwestel also indicated that the manual mobile service is at the end of its life cycle, resulting in a 10 percent decrease in the number of subscribers per year and that alternate services, such as cellular service and satellite service, are available to customers. |

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application. |

The Commission approves Northwestel's application. The revisions take effect on 31 December 2004. |

Northwestel is to issue forthwith a revised tariff page to reflect this change. |
