Telecom Order CRTC 2004-276

  Ottawa, 18 August 2004

Northwestel Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 812

TeleForum service

1.

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 12 July 2004, to revise General Tariff item 501, TeleForum Service, in order to charge a single flat-rate fee of $0.35 for bridging and a flat toll rate for certain toll applications of $0.35. The company also proposed to change the name of the service from TeleForum to Teleconferencing.

2.

Northwestel submitted that the TeleForum Service rate structure and the bridge and toll rates have been in place for six years.

3.

The company further submitted that a flat rating structure for toll and bridge usage would be easier for Northwestel's business and residence customers to understand and would also reduce the number of customer calls to Northwestel's Teleconferencing operators for quotations or explanations.

4.

Northwestel filed an imputation test in support of its application.

5.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

6.

The Commission finds that the imputation test is satisfactory.

7.

The Commission approves Northwestel's application. The revisions take effect as of 13 September 2004.
