Telecom Order CRTC 2004-267

  Ottawa, 5 August 2004

O.N.Telcom

  Reference: Tariff Notice 108

Interconnection with interexchange carriers

1.

The Commission received an application by O.N.Telcom, dated 9 June 2004, to revise Access Services Tariff for Interconnection with Interexchange Carriers (IXCs) item 40, Interconnecting Circuits with Trunk-Side Access, to decrease the host remote link charge to $0.002150 effective 1 January 2005 and to eliminate the charge effective 1 January 2006.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that in Telecom Order CRTC 2004-265, 5 August 2004, it approved the Toll Host Remote Transition Agreement between O.N.Telcom, NorthernTel Limited Partnership (NorthernTel) and Bell Canada for the provision of host remote links in O.N.Telcom's operating territory.

4.

The Commission also notes that during the transition period 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2005, O.N.Telcom will continue to provide host remote links for interexchange traffic in the territory except for originating traffic carried by NorthernTel where the customers have chosen NorthernTel as their primary interexchange carrier. Effective 1 January 2006, NorthernTel and Bell Canada will be responsible for provisioning host remote facilities and the host remote link charge will no longer be required.

5.

The Commission approves O.N.Telcom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

O.N.Telcom is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
