Telecom Order CRTC 2004-249

  Ottawa, 26 July 2004

O.N.Telcom

  Reference: Tariff Notice 103

9-1-1 Public emergency reporting and alerting services

1.

The Commission received an application by O.N.Telcom, dated 22 December 2003, to introduce item 2800, 9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service, under section 17 of its General Tariff. O.N.Telcom also provided a template agreement to be entered into with municipalities.

2.

On 18 June 2004, O.N.Telcom filed an amended agreement.

3.

O.N.Telcom noted that the proposed rates are equal to the rates approved for Bell Canada in 9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service, Telecom Order CRTC 2003-13, 9 January 2003. The wording in the 9-1-1 agreement, as amended on 18 June 2004, agrees with the wording set out in the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee 9-1-1 template agreement, dated 28 April 1998.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission notes that the proposed rate is consistent with the rate approved for other small incumbent local exchange carriers and Bell Canada. The Commission therefore considers the rate to be appropriate.

6.

The Commission approves O.N.Telcom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

7.

O.N.Telcom is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
