Telecom Order CRTC 2004-223

  Ottawa, 9 July 2004

Northwestel Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 810

Videoconference promotion

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 1 June 2004, to introduce item 1702, Videoconference promotion, to its General Tariff in order to offer a video conferencing service promotion whereby Northwestel would waive the associated set-up fee, as well as discount the room and equipment rental fee by 50% between 1 September 2004 and 31 December 2004.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission notes that this promotion is not within the scope of promotions suspended, in Review of promotions, Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2003-1-1, 13 March 2003.

The Commission considers the promotion in the present application is a legitimate promotion of limited duration. The Commission notes that the combined benefit and enrolment period does not exceed 12 months, and hence, is with the Commission's duration requirements.

The Commission approves Northwestel's application.
