NorthernTel Limited Partnership

9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service

1.

The Commission received an application by NorthernTel Limited Partnership (NorthernTel), dated 29 July 2003 and amended on 16 February 2004, to introduce 9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service (9-1-1 PERS) to section N390 of its General Tariff.

Specifically, NorthernTel proposed a monthly rate of $0.35 for 9-1-1 PERS per primary exchange line and $0.175 per wireless working telephone number. The company filed a cost study in support of the proposed rate. The company also filed a copy of the proposed standard agreement between the company and municipalities.

The Commission received comments from O.N.Telcom dated 8 September 2003, and reply comments from NorthernTel dated 18 September 2003.

The Commission is evaluating the revised cost information submitted by the company and the comments received.

The Commission approves on an interim basis NorthernTel's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

NorthernTel is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
