Service work charge for additional jacks |

The Commission received an application by Westport Telephone Company Limited (Westport), dated 6 May 2004, to revise item 3, Service Charges Schedule, under section 110 of its General Tariff in order to introduce a service work charge for installing additional jacks. |

Westport proposed to increase the service work charge for installing additional jacks, from $6 to $20. Westport noted that the current rate of $6 is not compensatory. |

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application. |

The Commission notes that in Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001, it determined that the rates for services of this type could increase to any already approved rate for the same service. |

The Commission further notes that the proposed rate is equal to the rate previously approved for Mornington Communications Co-operative Limited for the same service in Telecom Order CRTC 2002-425, 18 November 2002. |

The Commission approves Westport's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 July 2004. |

Westport is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect this change. |
