Electronic news gathering service

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 18 November 2003, to introduce General Tariff item 526, Electronic News Gathering Service, in order to provide access to occasional use video channels.

2.

Electronic news gathering service will permit customers to physically connect to company provided connection points called Television Operating Centres, located at various media sites, government legislatures, sports venues and other locations using remote news boxes, and to transmit their own video and audio feeds to their respective broadcast network.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
