LetterOttawa, 13 December 2004 To Recipient Dear Sir or Madam, Telecommunications Industry Data Collection - Information Sessions The CRTC annually collects data through its web-based Data Collection System (DCS) for, amongst other things, the updating of CRTC registration lists, telecommunications fees, the Canadian contribution mechanism fund administration, international licenses and Monitoring of the Canadian telecommunications industry. Data collection for the annual period ending 31 December 2004 will begin in February 2005. In order to assist those responsible for submitting annual information to the CRTC, information sessions will be held across the country to provide an opportunity to give feedback and suggestions for improvement to the DCS. The information sessions will also provide a forum to discuss changes to Reporting Entity Profile (REP) and data forms for the 2005 data collection, including new forms on bundled services and VOIP, as well as the nature of enhancements to the DCS including the ability to upload data forms from spreadsheets and alternative methods for submitting data. The Information sessions will be held in the following cities in January 2005.
