CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee - Consensus items

Consensus reports submitted to the CISC Steering Committee

1.

Several CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) working groups submitted consensus reports to the CISC Steering Committee (SC).

2.

On 23 July 2004, the SC approved the following reports:
 

-CSCN TIF Report re: Revisions to Section 3.7 of the Canadian Central Office Code (NXX) Assignment Guidelines, 24 June 2004 (CNRE041A). The Canadian Steering Committee on Numbering (CSCN) reached a consensus on revisions to Section 3.7 and the Glossary of terms of the Canadian Central Office Code Assignment Guidelines, Version 6, to clarify which NXXs should be set aside for each Numbering Plan Area that is forecast to exhaust in the next 20 years and to clarify which Central Office codes are unassignable.

 

-CSCN TIF Report re: Canadian Adjunct to INC 900 NXX Code Assignment Guidelines, 24 June 2004 (CNRE042A). The CSCN reached consensus on a Canadian Adjunct to the Industry Numbering Committee (INC) 900 NXX Code Assignment Guidelines to reflect Canadian regulatory requirements and geographical unique circumstances in the assignment of 900 numbers in Canada.

 

-CSCN TIF Report re: CDMA Use of MNC - Canadian International Mobile Station Identity (IMSI) Assignment Guidelines, 24 June 2004 (CNRE044A). The CSCN reached consensus on revisions to the IMSI guidelines to address the technical limitations faced by CDMA-based carriers in broadcasting Mobile Net work Codes.

 

-Insulation and Labelling of Unbundled Loops Carrying High Voltage, 17 June 2004 (BPRE038a). The Business Process Working Group (BPWG) reached consensus on modifications to the Canadian Local Ordering Guideline (C-LOG) procedures to allow notification to parties, via a field on a Local Service Request, of a high voltage hazard on an unbundled loop.

 

-Electronic File Transfer, 4 June 2004 (BPRE041a). The BPWG reached consensus to migrate the exchange of data files between companies from the BGS Mailbox system to an Internet-based approach based on the ASn protocol by 30 June 2005.

 

-Canadian Local Ordering Guidelines (C-LOG) - Loop Demarcation points in MDUs, 18 June 2004 (BPRE044a). The BPWG reached consensus on revisions to C-LOG V5.2 to reflect Commission determinations in Provision of telecommunications services to customers in multi-dwelling units, Telecom Decision CRTC 2003-45, 30 June 2003, with regard to ordering leased loops in Multiple Dwelling Units.

The consensus reports were referred to the Commission for consideration. These reports are available through the Commission's web site.
