|
Ottawa, 29 September 2004
Rogers Broadcasting Limited Ottawa, Ontario |
|
Application 2004-0211-5
CFMT-TV Toronto and its transmitter CFMT-TV-2 Ottawa - Technical change |
|
1. |
The Commission approves the application by Rogers Broadcasting Limited to change the authorized contours of its transmitter CFMT-TV-2 Ottawa by decreasing the average effective radiated power from 664,700 watts to 626,000 watts, and by relocating the antenna to the opposite side of the tower in Manotick, Ontario. |
2. |
The licensee indicated that the proposed change will result in an increase of the coverage area towards the west and north as well as a decrease in the eastern coverage area. |
3. |
The licensee stated that the change will increase the coverage area in Ottawa and Gatineau, and will result in CFMT-TV-2 reaching a slightly larger audience. |
4. |
The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. |
