Extension of the authorization to distribute OMNI.2

The Commission approves the application by Rogers Cable Communications Inc. for an extension of the authorization to distribute CJMT-TV Toronto (OMNI.2) as a distant Canadian signal on the basic service of the cable systems noted above, authorized in Distribution of distant signal CFMT too (OMNI.2), Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-292, 13 September 2002.

The Commission notes that this is the licensee's fourth request for an extension to its authority.

The licensee explained that a further extension is necessary as the new transmitters of OMNI.2 in Ottawa and London, which were approved in CJMT-TV (OMNI.2) Toronto - New transmitters in Ottawa and London, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-602, 17 December 2003, are not yet operational.

This authority will expire 13 March 2005, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before this date. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 60 days before this date.
