Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2004-157

  Ottawa, 23 April 2004
Global Television Network Inc. and TVA Group Inc., partners in the general partnership known as Mystery General Partnership
Across Canada
  Application 2003-1779-4
Public Hearing at Halifax, Nova Scotia
1 March 2004

Transfer of partnership interest

1.

The Commission approves the application by Global Television Network Inc. (GTNI) and TVA Group Inc. (TVA), partners in the general partnership known as Mystery General Partnership, for authority to acquire the 9.9% partnership interest currently held by Rogers Broadcasting Limited. The licensee operates a Category 1 specialty television service known as Mystery.

2.

As a result of the transaction, GTNI and TVA will each hold a 50% partnership interest in this service.

3.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

The Commission notes that the transfer of partnership interest will have no impact on the ultimate control of Mystery. Therefore, no tangible benefits are required.

5.

The new licence will be issued to GTNI and TVA once the vendor has surrendered the current licence to the Commission. The licence will expire 31 August 2007, the current expiry date, and will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those in effect under the current licence.

6.

The Commission will modify its ownership records accordingly.
