Prince Rupert City Telephones

Reference: Tariff Notice 61

Local radio program channel service

1.

The Commission received an application by Prince Rupert City Telephones (CityTel), dated 8 January 2003, to introduce General Tariff item 14, Local Radio Program Channel Service, in order to provide a clear transmission channel for a one-way, point-to-point transmission of audio signal from a broadcast location to a studio in the customer's radio station.

In Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001, the Commission assigned the service in question to the fourth service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for such service is generally permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service.

The Commission finds that the terms, conditions and rates proposed by CityTel for its local radio program channel service have already been approved by the Commission for similar services of other companies.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves CityTel's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

CityTel is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
