Telecom Order CRTC 2003-76

Ottawa, 17 February 2003

MTS Communications Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notice 497

Conventional mobile radio network access service

1.

The Commission received an application by MTS Communications Inc. (MTS), dated 8 January 2003, reflecting the withdrawal of item 3100, Conventional Mobile Radio Network Access Service, from its General Tariff.

2.

MTS noted that it originally established the conventional mobile radio system network access service to provide access to its switched network by conventional mobile radio system operators prior to the introduction of wireless (cellular) service.

3.

MTS submitted that there were no customers using this service and it did not anticipate any further demand for the service because the mobile market in Manitoba was no longer served by conventional mobile radio systems nor would such radio systems likely be re-introduced in the future.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves MTS' application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
