Telecom Order CRTC 2003-63

Ottawa, 4 February 2003

TELUS Communications Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notice 76

Call display acquisition promotion

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 14 November 2002, to introduce a promotion for a ten-week period to General Tariff item 300.4C, Call Display Acquisition Promotion.

2.

In its application, TCI proposed to offer existing residence customers who have had TCI as their local exchange carrier and their primary interexchange carrier for a minimum consecutive three-month period, and who currently do not subscribe to certain specified call management services, a free call display capable phone upon a new subscription to the call display feature. The company also submitted that eligible customers who choose to subscribe to the call display feature as part of the Residence Value Bundle (item 302) or Residence No Limits Bundle (item 303), rather than on a stand-alone basis, will also be eligible to receive the free phone.

3.

TCI submitted that customers must retain the call display feature for a minimum of six months from the date of enrolment in the promotion or they will be required to pay for the phone. TCI proposed to offer the promotion for a ten-week period or while quantities of the call display capable phone last.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TCI's application.

6.

TCI is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith reflecting this decision effective on the date of issuance.
