Telecom Order CRTC 2003-48

Ottawa, 23 January 2003

Société d'administration des tarifs d'accès des télécommunicateurs

Reference: Tariff Notice 13

Voice messaging service

1.

The Commission received an application by Société d'administration des tarifs d'accès des télécommunicateurs (SATAT) filed on behalf of Compagnie de téléphone Nantes inc. (Nantes), dated 14 November 2002, to add item 2.14, Voice Messaging Service, to Nantes' General Tariff, in order to introduce voice messaging service to its residential and business individual line subscribers.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that, in Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001 (Decision 2001-756), it assigned the service in question to the fourth price cap service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for services in the fourth basket would generally be permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service. The Commission also determined that an economic study would be required if the proposed rate is greater than an already approved rate.

4.

The Commission finds that the proposed revisions were previously approved by the Commission for the same services provided by other companies and are in accordance with Decision 2001-756.

5.

The Commission approves SATAT's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

Nantes is to issue a revised tariff page forthwith to reflect this change.
