Telecom Order CRTC 2003-420

  Ottawa, 15 October 2003

MTS Communications Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 510

Centrex PLUS service for large business customers

1.

The Commission received an application by MTS Communications Inc. (MTS), dated 11 August 2003, to revise General Tariff item 1987, Centrex PLUS, in order to lower the rates for its business customers in Rate Bands A and B who take the largest volumes of Centrex lines.

2.

MTS proposed to lower the monthly rates for customers with more than 4,000 lines to $26.00 per line for a minimum contract period (MCP) of 3 years and $24.85 per line for a 5-year MCP down from the current rates of $27.00 and $26.00 respectively available to these customers.

3.

MTS stated that the proposed changes for large Centrex systems were in response to demand from business customers for more competitively priced service options for Centrex service.

4.

MTS filed an imputation test to support the proposed rate decreases for uncapped services.

5.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

6.

The Commission finds that the proposed rates pass the imputation test.

7.

The Commission approves MTS' application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
