Telecom Order CRTC 2003-34

Ottawa, 20 January 2003

MTS Communications Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notice 493

New service option for MessageManager

The Commission received an application by MTS Communications Inc. (MTS), dated 12 December 2002, to revise Supplementary Tariff - Special Services and Facilities item 9720, Voice Processing Service, in order to introduce a new service option for MessageManager.

MessageManager provides customers with the capability of receiving, sending and storing voice messages in an electronic mailbox. The existing rate structure for MessageManager provides customers with mailboxes at a rate that varies with the volume of mailboxes that are taken by the customers.

The proposed service option offers new and existing customers who subscribe to 2001 or more mailboxes with a rate reduction of $0.50 to $1.25 per month for each mailbox depending on the number of mailboxes taken by the customer. Customers must also subscribe to a five-year contract to be eligible for this service option.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves MTS' application. The revisions take effect as of 31 January 2003.
