Telecom Order CRTC 2003-278

  Ottawa, 9 July 2003

Aliant Telecom Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 85

Centrex programming charge

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 27 May 2003, to revise General Tariff item 255, Standard service charges, in order to correct the wording to state that its Centrex programming charge (CPC) includes up to 10 programming feature changes per request. The company also proposed to reinstate the time and charges option for standard service charges which was previously available to business customers in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that Aliant Telecom had inadvertently indicated in its application under Tariff Notice 17, 19 April 2002, that its CPC would be charged per Centrex access and included up to 10 programming feature changes per access. The Commission further notes that the company also proposed to reinstate the time and charges option for standard service charges previously available to business customers in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, as this option was inadvertently taken out of the General Tariff when Aliant Telecom filed Tariff Notice 17 for Commission approval.

4.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
