Telecom Order CRTC 2003-254

Ottawa, 20 June 2003

TELUS Communications Inc.

Reference: TCBC Tariff Notice 4197

New optional features to Centrex service in British Columbia

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 15 May 2003, to revise the former TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc. General Tariff item 43, Centrex, in order to introduce Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) Management Information System (MIS) Service Bureau (ACD-MIS Service Bureau) and Automatic Call Distribution Usage Report (ACD Usage Report) as service offerings in the company's operating territory in British Columbia.

2.

In its application, TCI noted that the proposed ACD-MIS Service Bureau is an optional management information system feature available to Centrex ACD customers who subscribe to the Centrex ACD Group and ACD Agent features. ACD-MIS Service bureau provides extensive data collection and historical archiving in order to deliver to subscribing customers detailed information and analysis on their ACD applications.

3.

TCI also noted that ACD-MIS Service Bureau provides the customer, on a monthly basis, with eight standard reports and a choice of two optional ACD reports. ACD-MIS Service Bureau customers may obtain an additional report by subscribing to the ACD Usage Report feature.

4.

TCI further noted that the proposed ACD-MIS Service Bureau and ACD Usage Report functionalities would enhance TCI's service offering in British Columbia, in alignment with TCI's Centrex ACD offerings in Alberta, including the adoption of identical monthly rates.

5.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

6.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
