Telecom Order CRTC 2003-253

Ottawa, 19 June 2003

TELUS Communications Inc.

Reference: TCBC Tariff Notice 4198

Public radiotelephone stations

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 14 May 2003, to revise the former TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc. General Tariff item 244, Public Radiotelephone Stations, in order to reinstate the $0.45 per minute usage rate associated with long distance message toll calls which originate from UHF/Cellular Public Radiotelephones.

2.

TCI noted that this charge was inadvertently removed following the issuance of Forbearance - Regulation of toll services provided by incumbent telephone companies, Telecom Decision CRTC 97-19, 18 December 1997.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

5.

The Commission ratifies the charging of the rate associated with the service described herein, otherwise than in accordance with an approved tariff, for the period of 27 January 1998 to the date of this order.
