Migration of Channels for program transmission
1.
The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 28 February 2003 and amended on 3 April 2003 and 7 May 2003, in order to migrate Channels for Program Transmission as item 516 of its General Tariff, and remove the references to this service from the following tariffs: Island Telecom Inc. (Island Tel) and Maritime Tel & Tel Limited (MTT) General Tariffs, NBTel Inc. Special Services Tariff, NewTel Communications Inc. Non-Basic Services Tariff, and the APTC Regional Services Tariff.
2.
Aliant Telecom also proposed to change the rating for full-time or occasional channels in Prince Edward Island to be measured in fifths of a mile rather than in quarters of miles, in order to align rates for this service across Aliant Telecom's serving territory. Aliant Telecom submitted that there would be no change to the rate for a customer subscribing to this service.
3.
In addition, Aliant Telecom proposed to apply, across all of its serving territory, wording from previously approved terms and conditions contained in those companies' Tariffs, in order to clarify the terms and conditions for this service.
4.
Aliant Telecom also proposed to withdraw the following tariff pages as those pages cover the same services that are being migrated and were inadvertently left in the tariff pages when those services were tariffed in one of the above noted Tariffs:
· Section 1, page 7, and Section 4, pages 6 to 9 of the MTT Supplementary Tariff; and
· Section 1, page 7, and Section 4, pages 6 to 96 of the Island Tel Supplementary Tariff.
5.
The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.
6.
The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
