The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 17 April 2003, in order to specify a reference to the specific labour rates and conditions that would apply for Loop Modification service by consolidating the labour rates items from Maritime Tel & Tel Limited General Tariff item 585 and Island Telecom Inc. General Tariff item 385 into Aliant Telecom General Tariff item 256.

|
In Follow-up to Regulatory framework for second price cap period, Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-34 - Service basket assignment, Telecom Decision CRTC 2003-11, 18 March 2003 (Decision 2003-11), the Commission considered that the incumbent local exchange carriers' (ILECs) tariffs with respect to Loop Modification service were not sufficiently precise and required amendments to incorporate a reference to specific labour rates and conditions that would apply. The Commission, therefore directed the ILECs to file proposed amendments to their tariffs to either specify or incorporate a reference to the specific labour rates and conditions that would apply for Loop Modification service.
