Telecom Order CRTC 2003-125

Ottawa, 25 March 2003

Saskatchewan Telecommunications

Reference: Tariff Notices 35 and 35A

Smart Bundles

1.

The Commission received an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel), dated 1 October 2002 and amended on 2 December 2002, to revise its General Tariff - Basic Services in order to remove item 300.05, Smart Bundles.

2.

SaskTel submitted that customers would not be affected by the proposed revision. SaskTel further submitted that both new and existing customers would continue to pay the same total charges and would not see any changes to the provision of service. SaskTel noted that the same monthly rates that were available in the Smart Bundles are available on an unbundled basis. SaskTel noted that the rates for the local access and the SmartTouch features that were available in the Smart Bundles are available on an unbundled basis in its General Tariff. SaskTel further noted that the toll portion of each of the Smart Bundles would be replaced with a stand alone unlimited toll option that reflected the options that existed in the Smart Bundles.

3.

SaskTel submitted that, as a result of this application, customers would be able to subscribe to SaskTel's unlimited toll services without being a SaskTel local customer.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves SaskTel's application. The revisions take effect as of 15 May 2003.
