Re: PN 2001-119 Interrogatories
The Commission received a letter dated 18 December 2002, from Bell Canada, on behalf of itself, Aliant Telecom Inc., MTS Communications Inc., and Saskatchewan Telecommunications (collectively, the Companies). The Companies requested that, in light of the pending review of Phase II costing methodologies, the Commission conclude the proceeding initiated by CRTC to review revised loop and primary exchange service cost filings, Public Notice CRTC 2001-119, 30 November 2001 (PN 2001-119).
Commission staff notes that the Commission has not issued a decision on the Companies' request to conclude PN 2001-119 proceeding. However, Commission staff has reviewed the outstanding interrogatories that were posed in the proceeding initiated by PN 2001-119 in light of the upcoming Phase II review. Commission staff is of the view that the interrogatories listed in the attachments to this letter will be relevant to the Phase II methodology review.
Therefore, regardless of the Commission determination on the Companies' request to conclude PN 2001-119 proceeding, responses to these interrogatories will be required. Accordingly, the Companies and TELUS are requested to file, on the record of PN 2001-119, responses to interrogatories identified in the attachments to this letter, serving copies on all parties.
Pursuant to PN 2001-119 as amended, responses to these interrogatories are due by 28 February 2003.
Parties will be advised on the status of the remaining interrogatories in the Commission's determination on the Companies' request to conclude PN 2001-119 proceeding.
