Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2003-52

CJMT-TV Toronto - Technical changes

1.

The Commission approves the application by Rogers Broadcasting Limited to amend the broadcasting licence of the television programming undertaking CJMT-TV Toronto, in order to change the channel of its transmitter from 44C to 69C. The Commission also approves that portion of the application proposing to change the authorized contours by increasing the effective radiated power from 179,000 watts to 500,000 watts.

2.

The licensee stated that the use of channel 69C would eliminate the technical limitations associated with the current operation on channel 44 as well as provide better coverage within the station's licensed service area.

3.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
