Revocation of licence

1.

North Cariboo Community FM Stereo Society has requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) authorized to serve Quesnel, British Columbia.

Given the licensee's request, the Commission revokes, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the broadcasting licence issued to North Cariboo Community FM Stereo Society for the above-mentioned undertaking.

This RDU currently rebroadcasts the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) national English-language network service Radio Two from CBU-FM Vancouver. In CBU-FM Vancouver - New transmitter in Quesnel, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-466, also released today, the Commission authorizes the CBC to operate a transmitter in Quesnel to rebroadcast Radio Two from CBU-FM. Accordingly, the residents of Quesnel will continue to receive Radio Two by means of the CBC's transmitter.
