CKLP-FM Parry Sound - Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CKLP-FM Parry Sound, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

3.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999, as well as to the following condition of licence:
 
  • In addition to participating in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Canadian talent development program, the licensee shall allocate $5,000 per year in direct costs to underwrite a local talent contest for the area's First Nations community.

The Commission reminds the licensee that it must continue to fulfil the commitments related to the development of Canadian talent set out in Acquisition of assets of CKLP-FM, Decision CRTC 2001-691, 9 November 2001, in which the Commission approved the application by The Haliburton Broadcasting Group Inc. to acquire the assets of CKLP-FM Parry Sound from Playland Broadcasting Limited.

In accordance with Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992, the Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources.
