VF7002 Newcastle - Licence renewal
1.
The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the French-language Type B FM community radio programming undertaking VF7002 Newcastle (the originating station) and its temporary transmitters at Baie Ste-Anne, Néguac and Rogersville, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.
2.
The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
3.
This undertaking broadcasts programming relating to the special event Le Festival d'été (the Festival).
4.
The licence will be in effect only for the duration of the event. During the term of the licence, the Commission expects the licensee to submit each year, three months in advance, the exact date of the Festival.
5.
The licence will be subject to the following condition of licence :
The licensee must not broadcast more than 6 minutes of advertising in any hour of broadcast, and not more than an average of 4 minutes of advertising for every hour of broadcast up to a total of 504 minutes of advertising per week.
6.
The Commission considers that community radio stations should be particularly sensitive to employment equity issues in order to reflect fully the communities they serve. It encourages the licensee to consider these issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources (see Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992).
