CIYR Hinton - Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CIYR Hinton, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010. The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

The Commission reminds the licensee that it must fulfil all of the benefits commitments set out in 3937844 Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Newcap Inc., acquires the assets of radio stations in Alberta, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-93, 19 April 2002, in which the Commission approved the application by 3937844 Canada Inc. to acquire the assets of CIYR Hinton from Standard Radio Inc., and in Acquisition of the assets of CIYR and CJYR and its transmitters, Decision CRTC 99-444, 23 September 1999, in which the Commission approved the application by Okanagan Skeena Group Limited to acquire the assets of CIYR Hinton from Yellowhead Broadcasting Limited.
4. Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
