CIKX-FM Grand Falls and its transmitter CJCJ-2 Plaster Rock - Licence renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CIKX-FM Grand Falls and its transmitter CJCJ-2 Plaster Rock, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
|

|
The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999, as well as to the following condition of licence:

The licensee shall broadcast, at least during the morning hours, separate local programming, as defined in Policies for local programming on commercial radio stations and advertising on campus stations, Public Notice CRTC 1993-38, 19 April 1993.

The Commission reminds the licensee that it must fulfil all of the benefits commitments set out in Transfer of control of 3903206 Canada Inc., of Telemedia Radio Atlantic Inc. and of 50% of Radiomedia Inc. to Astral Radio Inc., Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-90, 19 April 2002, in which the Commission approved the transfer of control of CIKX-FM Grand Falls and its transmitter from Telemedia Radio Atlantic Inc. to Astral Radio Inc.

Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
