CKWW Windsor - Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CKWW Windsor, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.

2.

The Commission received one comment in connection with this application.

3.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999, as well as to the following conditions of licence:

1. The licensee shall, in each broadcast week, broadcast a minimum of 1 hour 30 minutes of news on CKWW;

2. As an exception to the percentage of Canadian musical selections set out in sections 2.2(8) and 2.2(9) of the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the Regulations), the licensee shall:

  • in any broadcast week, devote 20% or more of its musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety; and

  • between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., in the period beginning on Monday of the broadcast week and ending on Friday of the same week, devote 20% or more of its musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety.

For purposes of these conditions, the terms "broadcast week", "content category" and "musical selection" shall have the meaning set out in section 2 of the Regulations.

4. Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
