Acquisition of assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Ferry Hill

1.

The Commission received an application by Phil Wintemute, Telecommunications Manager, Department of Highways and Public Works, Government of Yukon, and his successors to the position for authority to acquire, from the Stewart Crossing Community Club, the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) serving Ferry Hill1, and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of the undertaking.

The RDU serving Ferry Hill distributes, in non-encrypted mode, the programs of the CBC Northern Radio Service at 106.1 MHz (channel 291A) with an effective radiated power of 548.9 watts.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

The Commission approves the application by Phil Wintemute and his successors2 for authority to acquire the assets of the RDU serving Ferry Hill, and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of the undertaking.

5.

The Commission will only issue the licence once the Stewart Crossing Community Club has surrendered the current licence to the Commission.

6.

The licence will expire on 31 August 2009 and will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those in effect under the existing licence.
