Electronic application forms and intervention form
1.
To better serve applicants of broadcasting undertakings and the public in general, the Commission has introduced a new version of the electronic broadcasting application forms and intervention form.
2.
The Commission's public proceedings are the focal point of its activities. In the past, participants in various public proceedings had access only to hard copies of public files that were available at specific locations. The Commission is striving to make its proceedings more accessible to all Canadians through the availability of electronic public files. Therefore, the Commission strongly encourages applicants and interveners to file their documents in an electronic format by using the forms provided for that purpose.

Submitting a broadcasting application
3.
Most of the Commission's forms are currently available for viewing and downloading under "File or Register" on our web site at www.crtc.gc.ca . They are in HTML format and may be downloaded to the word processing software of your choice.
4.
This new format allows for:
- severability of the document to facilitate its completion by various staff members within your organization;
- a significant decrease in the number of attachments associated with an application, making it a comprehensive document; and
- easier access to the public examination file.
5.
The downloading and submission instructions are available when you access "Application forms" accessible under "File or register" on our web site.
6.
In order to facilitate access to your application through the CRTC's web site, the Commission encourages you to submit your application in electronic format, with the exception of confidential material which should be filed on diskette.
7.
One hard copy version must also be sent to the Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario K1A ON2 . The onus is on the applicant/licensee to ensure that the electronic version is identical to the hard copy version.
Submitting broadcasting interventions or comments
8.
The Commission's decisions are based on a public consultation process that allows Canadians to participate in shaping Canada's broadcasting system.
9.
To serve you better, the Commission has created an electronic broadcasting intervention form which is accessible under "Public Participation" by selecting "Participate in a Broadcasting Proceeding" on our web site, or by selecting the hyperlink immediately following each application listed on every CRTC Broadcasting Public Notice and Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing. A list of Notices open for public comments is also located under "Public Proceedings" on our web site at www.crtc.gc.ca.
10.
To ensure that all necessary information is provided in accordance with the Commission's Rules of Procedure, and to facilitate the processing of information for the benefit of all parties, the Commission encourages you to submit your interventions or comments using the electronic broadcasting intervention form. The use of this form will automatically ensure that the intervention is sent to the proper CRTC e-mail address.
11.
You are reminded that according to the CRTC Rules of Procedure, when commenting on an application submitted to the CRTC, you must serve a copy of the intervention to the applicant.
