Ottawa, 20 December 2002 |
The Commission has received the following application: |
DEADLINE FOR INTERVENTION |
1. |
Across Canada (e) |
Application by FOOD NETWORK CANADA INC. (Food Network) to amend the licence of the specialty television programming service known as Food Network Canada. |
The licensee proposes to delete the condition of licence relating to the shareholdings of Corus Entertainment Inc. (Corus) in Food Network, which reads as follows: |
This application is further to Food Network's application (No. 2002-0727-6) for authority to increase Corus' shareholdings in Food Network beyond the 10% limit imposed by condition of licence in Decision CRTC 2000-217 (dated 4 July 2000). This application was approved in Decision CRTC 2002-465, issued on this day. |
Food Network asked that the foregoing condition of licence be deleted, since it has become redundant following the Commission's Public Notice CRTC 2002-24 (dated 9 May 2002), amending the Commission's regulations to remove the 10% restriction imposed on cable ownership of analog discretionary services by deleting s. 10(4)(d) of the Specialty Services Regulations, 1990 and s. 6(4)(d) of the Pay Television Regulations, 1990. |
