The licensees request relief, by condition of licence, from the requirement under subsection 17(1) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations so that CFMT 'too' (OMNI.2) may be distributed on their cable distribution undertaking as part of the basic service but outside of the basic band.

 

The licensees propose to place the OMNI.2 service on channel 14 in the Greater Toronto Area systems and on channel 15 in the Erin/Caledon, Grand Valley and Orangeville systems. In order to do so, the licensees require a condition of licence to be relieved from the requirement of subsection 17(1).
