The licensee proposes to change the frequency from 89.7 MHz (channel 209 LP) to 88.1 MHz (channel 201 LP).

 

The licensee currently operates on frequency 89.7 MHz (channel 209 LP) with an effective radiated power of 0.6 watt, a non-protected FM low power service.

 

This frequency has been selected by a regular power station and the Department of Industry requires the licensee to select another frequency.

 

The contour of the station will not change.

Applications by PEACE RIVER BROADCASTING CORPORATION LTD. to amend the licences of radio stations CKYL and CKKX-FM Peace River.

 

The licensee proposes to delete the transmitter CFFC-FM Fox Creek from its licence CKYL Peace River and to add that same transmitter to its licence CKKX-FM Peace River.

 

The Commission notes that there will be no technical changes to the CFFC-FM transmitter which operates on frequency 92.1 MHz (channel 221 LP) with an effective radiated power of 44 watts.

 

Should these proposed amendments be approved, the residents of Fox Creek would receive the programming service of CKKX-FM instead of CKYL Peace River.
