Aliant Telecom Inc.

Business Communications Service

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 3 July 2002, to revise NBTel Inc. General Tariff items 70.1, 70.2 and 72, Business Communications Service, in order to:

- increase the monthly rates for Exchange Business Communications Service (BCS) Access - Flat Rate by $1 per access on tapers First 2-5 and Next 5 and by $3 per access for Next 65, Next 125 and each additional taper;

- introduce one- and two-year contract rates as an alternative to the existing monthly rates;

- add item 70.1 (A)(6) to reflect the new contract options;

- remove the item 100 cross-reference from the Note (Z) in items 70.2.A(1) and 70.2.A (2);

- remove the table for Direct-in-Dial (DID), in item 70.2 (A)(1);

- remove all references to DID (from items 70.1 A(2)(b) and 70.1 B Note), and add DID in item 70.1(B);

- remove Total Billable - Flat Rate, from item 70.2 (A)(1);

- remove item 70.2 (A)(1), Rate Codes; and

- remove the expired promotion in item 72.

Aliant Telecom indicated that it would notify customers of the proposed rate increase through an informational letter.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
