Telecom Order CRTC 2002-380

Ottawa, 13 September 2002

TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc.
Reference: Tariff notice 332

SmartTouch services promotion

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc. (TELUS Québec, the Company), dated 2 August 2002, to revise General Tariff item 2.20.03, SmartTouch Services, in order to introduce a promotion for local business service customers from 9 September 2002 to 31 December 2002.

2.

In its application, TELUS Québec requested that the Commission rescind Telecom Order CRTC 2002-288, 16 July 2002 (Order 2002-288) which approved tariff notice 329 with respect to a promotion offering all local business service customers who sign a 12-month contract for Centrex service, voice messaging service free of charge for the duration of the contract. TELUS Québec submitted that the Commission should rescind Order 2002-288 as the company had omitted to indicate that the promotion was intended for all local business customers who also choose the Company as their long distance service provider.

3.

TELUS Québec is now requesting approval of the SmartTouch services promotion for all local business service customers who subscribe to the company's long distance services and sign a 12-month contract for Centrex service.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TELUS Québec's application.

6.

TELUS Québec is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith reflecting this decision effective on the date of issuance.
