Aliant Telecom Inc.
Reference: Tariff notices 20 and 20A

Multi-line access service

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom),
dated 2 May 2002, and amended on 31 May 2002, to transfer the following items to the Aliant Telecom General Tariff item 205.3, Multi-Line Access Service:

- NBTel Inc. (NBTel) General Tariff item 100, Business Multi-Line Access Service;
- NewTel Communications Inc. (NewTel) General Tariff item 50.10, Exchange Service, for Multi-line Access only;
- Maritime Tel & Tel Limited General Tariff items 700, Network Exchange Service - Multi-line: General, 710, Multi-line System Classification, and 725, Multi-line Quality Program, Network Exchange Service Multi-line; and
- Island Telecom Inc. (Island Tel) General Tariff items 680, Network Exchange Service - Multi-line: General, with the exception of item 680.2(c) which pertains to Centrex service, and item 720, Network Exchange Service - Multi-line: Monthly Rates.

Aliant Telecom also proposed to remove Island Tel General Tariff items 300.3, Multi-line Terminal Equipment, and 690, Multi-line System Classification, as they pertain to multi-line terminal equipment which was granted forbearance in Review of Regulatory Framework, Telecom Decision CRTC 94-19, 16 September 1994.

In addition, the company proposed to delete NBTel's General Tariff item 100.2, Business Multi-Line Access Service, since the service is no longer in use.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's applications. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
